RTP Streams

The RTP Streams analysis tool was added in CloudShark 1.9 and allows you to view and play RTP streams that have been detected in a capture file.

Each stream is displayed in its own row. The speaker button allows you to switch to the player view for the stream. If the RTP codec is supported, a play button allows you to play an audio stream extracted from the RTP stream. Supported codecs include G.711, G.722, G.729, and GSM. The audio stream will be played back by the audio capabilities of your web browser. Alternatively, you may download the audio file in various formats.

RTP Detection

The UDP ports used by RTP are normally dynamic. CloudShark depends on the signaling packets to find the RTP streams in a capture file. If the capture file does not contain the signaling packets, you may need to add a Decode Protocol As rule to your capture.

Alternatively, you can ask your CloudShark Administrator to modify the decode options to try and detect RTP streams automatically. This is done by setting the rtp.heuristic_rtp: TRUE option.
